Kauai, Hawaii (USA)
For an international energy project, Lausitzer Stahlbau Ruhland GmbH took over the Technical processing and production of the steel structure for a biomass power plant on the island Kauai in Hawaii, United States.
The Technical processing of the steel structure was carried out in accordance with American standards and guidelines.
Special attention was paid to:
static design according to US standards
Consideration of increased wind and earthquake loads
constructive adaptation to seismically active regions
Project-specific detailed and workshop planning
The site in Hawaii is located in a earthquake-prone region, This placed increased demands on the structural planning and the design of the steel structure.
Due to the maritime location and the tropical climate, the entire steel construction was covered with a high-quality corrosion protection system equipped.
This guarantees:
Long-term resistance to salty air
Protection against high humidity
Increased service life of the steel components
Reduced maintenance intervals
Project: Kauai biomass power plant (Hawaii, USA)
