Canopy at the new Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre

The Lausitzer Stahlbau Ruhland Ltd. took over in 2018 on behalf of Köster Ltd. the Total order for the canopy of the new Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. The project covered all service phases from planning to installation.

Scope of services:

• Engineering and design

• Static calculation

• Manufacture of the steel structure

• Delivery and installation of the textile membrane

• Delivery of the rope safety system

• Supply and integration of LED coves

• Delivery of drainage systems

• Assembly of the entire steel structure

This project resulted in a cantilevered steel structure to Roofing of the apron area following the Foyer of Exhibition Hall 1.
The canopy is at a height of approximately 20 metres on filigree spun concrete columns stored, which have a integrated stainless steel drainage have at their disposal.

The roof system consists of a double-sided translucent membrane covering in cushion-shaped diamond fields, which creates an impressive lighting effect. On the underside, a LED lighting along the cove construction for uniform illumination and a modern architectural effect.
A metal cladding completes the overall concept and rounds off the elegant steel construction both functionally and aesthetically.
