Manufacture and delivery of VFT carriers

As part of a challenging infrastructure project, LSR Lausitzer Stahlbau for the Hentschke Construction Ltd. four VFT beams (composite precast beams) with a total tonnage of around 90 tonnes. The large-format steel structures were used as central components of a modern bridge construction and placed the highest demands on Manufacturing, corrosion protection and logistics.

Each of the four VFT beams had a length of 38 metres, a component height of 1.8 metres and an individual weight of approximately 45 tonnes. Covering a total area of around 850 square metres the carriers were ZTV-ING with a high-quality 4-layer corrosion protection system coated. In addition, around 2,800 head bolts installed for a force-fit connection with the in-situ concrete supplement.

The transport of up to 70-tonne components including tractor unit was subject to approval special transport, which required precise logistical planning and close coordination with the relevant authorities. Thanks to careful preparation, experienced project management and technical expertise, LSR Lausitzer Stahlbau deliver the girders to the construction site on time and without any problems.

The particular challenge in this project lay in the unusual dimensions and high individual weight of the steel girders. Through detailed planning, high manufacturing quality and precisely coordinated transport logistics, it was possible to reliably meet all requirements. The project was on time and to the complete satisfaction of the client completed.
